Jee’s client, a major UK renewables company, had previously attended a successful public course on subsea power cables. Jee’s training team met with members of the client to discuss their ongoing projects.
The client had a number of upcoming offshore wind projects, which necessitated training more than 50 employees on High Voltage Direct Current cables. However, their existing training provider had discontinued their HVDC course.
Jee organised a subsequent meeting with the client, during which Jee tutor Troy Brown was introduced to the client’s management who shared what they envisioned for the course. Jee’s training team then created the outline of a bespoke two-day HVDC course to present to the client within four weeks, before fully developing it in the subsequent months.
The course was eventually presented to the client across four classes – one in London, two in Glasgow and one virtually. It was very well received, with attendees describing the material as “very interesting and easy to digest and follow”.
Jee is now the preferred cables training provider for the client and is set to present a number of additional courses – including more of the bespoke HDVC course – this year.
