A client engaged Jee to undertake a complex plugging campaign to support the decommissioning of a number of subsea export pipelines. The project demanded a nuanced understanding of both onshore planning and offshore execution, a challenge that Jee was exceptionally well-equipped to manage due to its multidisciplinary capabilities and seasoned personnel.

In the onshore engineering phase, this included:

  • Reviewing and analysing plug vendors and models to determine the most appropriate for the constraints of technical excellency, price and functionality.
  • Completing check sheets that analysed the plugs applicability, robustness and design specification to ensure that all possible associated risks are mitigated before the operation begins. Providing assurance to our client regarding the suitability of the equipment to be mobilised.
  • Supporting the running of HAZID/HAZOP risk-based workshops with operators, vendors and other stake holders to analyse the procedures to mitigate the extent of controllable threats to the project’s delivery

The offshore execution phase of the project included:

  • Management and oversight of the offshore execution of the plugging campaign.
  • Co-ordination of the project execution, acting as a client representative ensuring permits and work processes are followed ensuring safe, risk-managed operation.
  • Provision of onsite assurance and reviewing changes to procedures or operating conditions compared to the plan.
  • Acting as the technical authority/focal point for the plugging and related scope offshore.
  • Liaison with vessels during execution to deliver the project efficiently and safely.

Jee successfully executed both phases of the operation on schedule and within budget, adding tangible value during offshore execution, further demonstrating our unwavering commitment to delivering outcomes aligned with our client's objectives.
