You won't need me to tell you that this year has been challenging with never a dull moment, even in the pipeline and subsea engineering consultancy sector. The headwinds have made us redouble our efforts - here is my pick of our top three new offerings as we thank our customers for their continuing business and wish everyone well for 2026:
Defect matching
Jee has teamed up with Irth Solutions to add to our pigging and integrity services. We have been using Irth’s AIP software to map and compare pipeline defects from different intelligent pigging runs, often from different vendors. An example issue here is that one pig run can come in at 100km and the next in the same line at 101km, so matching the data sets is not obvious, and can take ages to do manually. The AIP software does the matching swiftly and sets out its logic in doing so. Now Jee can offer this software as a service or help set it up if the customer wants their own platform.
Conceptual design
We have also been working with EP Consult Energies to bring more breadth to our feasibility and conceptual design services, and to add in process safety and risk assessment in both the project and operations phases
Direct assessment
This is an alternative to in-line inspection whereby we do flow assurance and corrosion modelling and calibrate this with local external inspections. There has long been demand for this in non-piggable lines, however, we are seeing it being adopted internationally and being considered for hydrogen lines where pigging runs can cause contamination, sending the gas out of spec.
Thanks to the Jee team for making this happen – looking forward to 2026!
