Learning, problem-solving and teamwork: what my first year at Jee taught me

Since I started at Jee as a Graduate Engineer I have learned a lot within a great working environment. The work is varied which keeps things exciting and ensures there is always something new to learn. 

Coming into this role with no prior knowledge of marine or subsea engineering, many the key concepts were new to me. However, diving straight into these areas and gaining experience has been challenging but rewarding. I have been involved in every stage of projects, from working on technical pigging assurance documents to data analysis and supporting the design team. This ensures each day is different and that I am always learning something. 

Working in a small team has been one of the best bits. Everyone is approachable and always happy to help and there is a strong sense of teamwork. I have learned a lot having the senior engineers around me and have developed a lot quicker than I expected.

Overall, my first year at Jee has been a great experience, full of learning, problem-solving, and working with a friendly team. I would recommend the graduate scheme to anyone looking for a varied, challenging, and enjoyable role. It has been a good start to my career, and I am looking forward to what the next year brings.
