By Jack Fitzgerald, graduate engineer at Jee Ltd
Since joining as a graduate engineer in November 2025 I have been involved in a range of exciting projects in a fast paced working environment. I came into the role with an aerospace background so although many engineering principles were familiar my understanding of subsea engineering was limited.
My goal when joining was to build on my university skills and apply them to real projects. In my short time at Jee I have seen a variety of engineering challenges and worked closely with senior engineers on practical and innovative solutions.
From the first day I was made to feel welcome and encouraged to ask questions. Colleagues have always taken the time to talk things through and give clear explanations whether engineering related or not. This has helped me build a deeper understanding of the subsea industry and appreciate the work involved in keeping operations running well.
I value the collaborative environment at Jee because working in a smaller team means everyone is approachable and you gain exposure to a wide range of tasks and concepts.
One thing that stands out is the progress I have made in a short time which would not have been possible without the support of my colleagues. I am always learning and have already contributed to work in areas such as pigging, integrity management and pipeline design.
I would highly recommend Jee to anyone looking to start their engineering career, gain real project experience and learn from experienced industry specialists.
